The Eleven Principles
Introduction

Come meet my dad.

If you grew up in church during the 1980s and 1990s, you're probably familiar with the phrase WWJD — What Would Jesus Do?

That question stayed with me for years.

Over time, I realized that when I faced challenges in business, family, relationships, faith, or life, I wasn't asking myself what Jesus would do. I was asking myself what my dad would do.

That's how WWDD — What Would Dad Do? — was born.

This isn't a business book. It isn't a leadership book. It isn't a parenting book. It's simply a collection of stories about the greatest man I've ever known.

My father, Don Riley, was a police officer, an entrepreneur, a pastor, a cowboy, a builder, and a protector. But those titles don't explain who he was. The stories do.

Every story in this book is true. Some will make you laugh. Some will make you cry. Some will remind you of your own father. Others may remind you of the father you wish you'd had.

I didn't write this book to teach. I wrote it to introduce you to the greatest man I've ever known.

If you discover a business principle, a family principle, a leadership principle, or simply a better way to love people, then spending time with Don Riley will have blessed your life just as much as it blessed mine.

I'd give everything I own for one more day with my dad. Since I can't have that, this book is the next best thing.

Don't read this book looking for lessons. Just spend a little time getting to know my dad.

By the time you reach the final page, I think you'll understand why I've spent most of my life asking one simple question:

What Would Dad Do?
